New Orleans’ newest supergroup, The Nolatet, will play their first-ever show at the Maple Leaf in New Orleans on Thrusday, February 25–just one day before they release their debut album Dogs via Royal Potato Family.
The ensemble, which features Johnny Vidacovich (drums), James Singleton (upright bass), Mike Dillon (vibes and percussion) and Brian Haas (piano), recorded their album last year at New Orleans’ own Esplanade Studios, not long after playing their first five shows together. The members of the Nolatet have all performed with one another and shared co-bills on the same touring circuit for the past 20 years.
The Maple Leaf show is slated to begin at 11pm, and will serve as a replacement of sorts for Vidacovich’s weekly Thursday night resideny at the venue. A few days later–on Sunday, February 28–the band will play two gigs at Snug Harbor. They will then embark on their first national tour from March 11 to April 16.
