The 11th annual NOLA River Fest is set to celebrate the grandeur of the Mighty Mississippi River on June 1, 2024, with a day of music, culture and community events. The festival will feature an impressive lineup of performances and activities.
Headlining the festival is the legendary blues musician Bobby Rush, whose storied career and captivating performances are sure to draw a crowd. Joining him on stage will be the N’Awlins D’Awlins Baby Dolls, an iconic group known for their colorful and energetic dance routines that capture the spirit of New Orleans.
The festivities will also include performances by the DJ Archivist, Treme Lafitte Brass Band, Grayhawk Perkins, George Brown Band, Egg Yolk Jubilee, Jason Neville Funky Soul Band and Britney Chauntae. Each act brings a unique flavor of music, ranging from traditional brass and jazz to funk and soul.
One of the highlights of the NOLA River Fest is the Second Line parade, a beloved New Orleans tradition. Festival-goers are invited to join the Second Line, which will kick off at 11 a.m. at Jackson Square. This lively procession, led by brass bands and dancers, will weave through the streets, celebrating the culture and community spirit of New Orleans.
The NOLA River Fest not only celebrates the Mississippi River’s historical and cultural significance but also provides an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a day of entertainment and camaraderie.
