NOLA Funk Fest Hosts Auction Benefiting Grace at the Green Light

NOLA Funk Fest announces its collaboration with Positive Legacy for a charitable auction benefiting Grace at the Green Light, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the city’s unhoused community. The auction, which will showcase signed memorabilia, instruments, concert tickets, and unique experiences, aims to attract music lovers and those eager to contribute to a worthy cause.

The auction will be held both online, from October 10-17, and in-person during NOLA Funk Fest, scheduled from October 18-20 at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. All proceeds will go directly to Grace at the Green Light, a nonprofit organization that provides daily meals, essential services, and emotional support to individuals experiencing homelessness. With a focus on fostering dignity and respect, the organization plays a vital role in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable residents of New Orleans.

“We at NOLA Funk Fest are deeply committed to giving back to the community that continues to support us in our second year,” said NOLA Funk Fest’s Head of Festival, Chris Beary. “The needs of the unhoused are often overlooked but no less important. Knowing that so many live without a home or on the brink of losing their homes, we wanted to give back to those who need it most.”

Positive Legacy, a nonprofit that integrates music and service, will manage the auction, ensuring that net revenue directly benefits Grace at the Green Light. The collaboration embodies Positive Legacy’s mission of using music to drive positive change for both people and the planet.

“Positive Legacy’s mission is to harness the power of music to give back to people and the planet. We are honored to be part of this year’s NOLA Funk Fest to support our amazing local partner, Grace at the Green Light, and continue leaving a positive legacy here in New Orleans,” said Carrie Reppert, Positive Legacy Executive Director.

Sarah Parks, Executive Director of Grace at the Green Light added, “We are so thankful for the support of NOLA Funk Fest. The generosity of NOLA Funk Fest and Positive Legacy has truly brought a sense of joy and community to the unhoused we serve. For our guests to be able to get not only their basic needs met, but also join in on community events such as NOLA Funk Fest, is integral in improving the quality of life of our unhoused – letting them know they’re valued members of our community”.
