Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, the Virgin Islands and New Orleans will all be represented at the second annual NOLA Caribbean Festival later this month. The two-day NOLA Caribbean Festival on June 23 and 24 is but one of seven Caribbean themed events transpiring over four days and showcases the region’s cuisine, culture, dance and music. Naturally, New Orleans’ status as the Caribbean’s northern-most city makes it the ideal host for an event of this magnitude and it all goes down at Central City BBQ.
The four-day schedule of celebrations related to the Fest itself includes a dance party wit DJ T-Roy at Blue Nile on Thursday, June 21; a pool party at the Drifter Hotel on Friday, June 22; and after parties and more. At the festival, attendees can expect an electric array of food including desserts and beverages inspired by Caribbean flavors, including vegetarian and vegan options. Plus, there will be a Kids Corner for the little ones, African drumming lessons and an indoor dance stage where folks can hear bounce, dancehall and salsa.
As for the Festival’s music lineup, Saturday will host La Tifa, Imani Ray, Yard Squad Band, N’Kiruka, Cuban Papi, Neptune Steel Pans, DJ Megatron, DJ Felipe and DJ T-Roy. On Sunday, Conkarah, Scrouge, Deco Martinez, Range, Yard Squad, Casa Samba, DJ T-Roy, Muevelo, DJ Felipe and DJ Megatron will rock.
