The first annual “Noise for Toys” concert will be held Thursday, December 16 at Tipitina’s. The concert features a long bill of performers, such as Joe Krown, Los Po-Boy-Citos, Andrew Duhon and more, who are all performing for free to help bring a better holiday season to those less fortunate. The event also features a tribute to Marva Wright with Topsie Chapman, Leslie Smith, Margie Perez and more.
Those in attendance are asked to bring a non-perishable food item and/or an unwrapped toy. There will also be vendors with holiday crafts for sale. You can contribute by entering to win a holiday gift raffle, the proceeds for which go to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. Tickets are only $10 in advance, and $12 at the door, so it need not be expensive to be generous this year, and the long list of musicians that will be performing helps, too.
