New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW), happening March 27 to April 1, announced its inaugural NOEW Fest celebrating and presenting musical and cultural entrepreneurs like White Denim, Pell, People Museum, Brass-A-Holics, Water Seed, SaxKixAve, LeTrainiump, DJ Mel, DJ RQ Away, Juno Dunes, Carmine P. Filthy, DJ T-Roy, Young Fellaz Brass Band and Sean Hobbes & The Hi Res.
NOEW Fest will start Thursday and Friday, March 30 and 31 at Generations Hall until the final day Saturday, April 1 at the Broadside.
It began as a way to highlight those who innovate the culture and music market through their original music, creative businesses or work in the community. Several significant local artists will headline NOEW Fest this year.
Pell is the co-founder of glbl wrmng, a collective of creatives and music executives from New Orleans focused on changing the climate of the music industry while respecting, educating and expanding the culture. People Museum are pushing boundaries via innovative electronica built around Claire Givens haunting vocals and Jeremy Phipps warbly synths and lead trombone.
New Orleans rapper Alfred Banks and Grammy-nominated saxophonist/producer Albert Allenback (of Tank and the Bangas) have teamed up to become SaxKixAve, an innovative blend of left-of-center jazz and R&B-inflected production and witty, emotionally reflective, fine-tuned lyricism.
Producing NOEW Fest, The Idea Village partnered with leading local music producer and experienced curator Sig Greenebaum, and his company, Sigfest Events. Greenebaum is a veteran New Orleans-based music festival, esports and live shows. He recently co-founded NOLAxNOLA, a celebration of New Orleans music venues and artists, in addition to his past accomplishments as Festival Director of the Voodoo Music +Arts Experience, Elements Music Festival and Spring Awakening, and as the Global Head of Live Events for Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch League.
