New Orleans Wine and Food Experience schedules summer dates

Each year, hundreds of wineries and restaurants participate in the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE), a culinary experiences like no other. Due to Covid-19 safety precautions, organizers have moved NOWFE to a mid-summer event, taking place June 9-13, and tickets are now on sale.

NOWFE brings together winemakers from all over the world, talented and well known chefs and industry leaders. Here they showcase their talents and hard work during a series of events to educate, entertain and inspire both producers and consumers of these indulgent foods and extravagant wines.

“We are excited about our summer plans,” said Aimee Brown, executive director of NOWFE. “We will have several of our popular events, however, coming together safely is most important. Rest assured NOWFE 2021 will be a safe place to share your love of food and wine.”

Events will have limited attendance, however, some events will have additional time slots added.

“We’ve created several ticket packages to help guide our guests through the best experience that fits their needs,” said Joey Worley, NOWFE President. “With varying levels, everyone can find something to fit their budget and their schedule.”

Events will include:

• Pre-fixe wine dinners at numerous restaurants across the city

• A Vinola Afternoon or Evening with the opportunity to sample rare and highly valued wines, each one boasting a retail value of at least $75. Elite wines from around the world will be presented by winemakers themselves. Vinola also features participating restaurants that provide delectable samples of food to go with your upscale wine.

• Labs that feature top wine professionals and celebrated chefs offering presentations on what’s hot in the wine industry and culinary world.

• Taste and judge premier rosés—both still and sparklers—from France, Spain, Italy, United States and the Southern Hemisphere in the second annual People’s Choice Tournament of Rosés Awards.

The highlight of the NOWFE is easily the Grand Tastings on Friday and Saturday, which feature 1,000 wines from 175 wineries and 75 chefs serving up regional culinary delights.

Join Trixie Minx and her Burlesque Beauties for a one of a kind NOWFE experience: Burlesque, Bubbly, and Brunch, which features a plated brunch prepared by the Chefs at the Omni Royal Orleans, and a burlesque performance to “top off” this festive closing event of NOWFE 2021. Bloody Mary and coffee vendors will be included and bottomless Luc Belaire and Luc Belaire cocktails will be served.
