New Orleans rolled out the red carpet for Taylor Swift fans and visitors and is even hosting a special event this weekend. The “Embrace the Culture Festival,” was organized by the City of New Orleans and the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy and features the city’s iconic music, art and culinary traditions.
Located at Duncan Plaza, 343 Loyola Avenue, “Embrace the Culture” will run from 7 p.m. to midnight on through Sunday, Oct. 27. The plaza will also serve as a key transportation hub for concertgoers, with ride-share services conveniently stationed nearby for smooth access to and from the event and other convenient amenities such as on-site restrooms. Free and open to the public, the festival invites attendees to revel in an array of local performances, food offerings and art displays.
The weekend’s all-star lineup includes local favorites such as Dwayne Dopsie, Flow Tribe, Sporty’s Brass Band, and Brass-A-Holics, with DJ sets by Raj Smoove, Slab 1, and DJ Jess adding an extra beat to the night. Headlining acts like Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph and Hasizzle, along with Eliza Sonnenschein and Mecca. In addition to music, the festival grounds will host a diverse selection of food trucks offering some of the best local flavors.
Beyond the entertainment and culinary delights, the festival features booths from local artists and vendors, making it easy for visitors to support New Orleans’ creative community and take home a piece of the city. The event is designed with families in mind, making it an ideal destination for attendees of all ages.
