New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund Celebrated Achievements

The New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund (NOTCF)  celebrated the remarkable success of its Grants Program and other initiatives at a recent press conference. Over the past three years, NOTCF has set a new standard in supporting New Orleans’ vibrant cultural community by awarding an unprecedented number of grants and sponsorships.

Since the launch of the Grants Program in May 2021, more than 1,500 grants, totaling $13.7 million, have been awarded to artists, arts organizations and culture bearers throughout the city. These grants have become a cornerstone for sustaining local festivals and creative work year-round.

The Golden Age Culture Program, a new initiative launched to provide support for cultural artists and bearers aged 60 and over in navigating the grant application process. This program ensures that the rich traditions and wisdom of elder artists remain at the forefront of New Orleans culture.

In addition to direct grants for the arts, more than $3.6 million has been awarded to local festivals since 2021, including iconic events such as French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, Satchmo Fest, Fried Chicken Festival, Bayou Classic, and the ESSENCE Festival of Culture. Collectively, these festivals have contributed more than $1.2 billion in economic impact for New Orleans and Louisiana.
