New Orleans Suspects will release their third full-length album, Kaleidoscoped, on September 16 via Louisiana Red Hot Records. The band will also put out a vinyl edition of the LP on September 30.
Founding bassist Reggie Scanlan, who announced his departure from New Orleans Suspects earlier this year, recorded the bass tracks on Kaleidoscoped. However, the group’s new touring bassist, Charlie Wooton, has replaced him for their live performances.
The album also feature contributions from all of the band’s other members, drummer “Mean” Willie Green, saxophonist Jeff Watkins, guitarist/vocalist Jake Eckert and keyboardist CR Gruver.
Kaleidoscoped, which was mixed and mastered by Eckert and Watkins, features eight tracks and plenty of special guests. Collaborators include Fred Tackett and Paul Barrere of Little Feat (“Dixie Highway”), Big Chief Juan Pardo of the Golden Commanches (“Round Up Dem Suspects”), Tower of Power horn veterans (“Let’s Get It Started” and “Cocaine Jane”) and more.
The forthcoming album marks New Orleans Suspects’ first release since 2014’s Ouroboros.
