The New Orleans Seafood Festival will hold its 4th annual celebration in Lafayette Square this weekend, Friday through Sunday, September 10-12. The festival is free and open to the public, and will feature live music, an artists’ market and food from over 20 of the city’s restaurants as well as daiquiris and snowballs. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. during the weekend.
The Wiseguys kick off the festival at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by Rockin’ Dopsie at 6:30. Kermit Ruffins, Rebirth Brass Band and Luther Kent, among others, will also appear throughout the weekend. Celebrity chefs such as John Besh and Chris Lusk will be demonstrating recipes, and among the restaurants represented will be Acme Oyster House, Galatoire’s, Serrano’s, Cafe at the Square and Ninja Sushi. All proceeds from this festival will go to benefit the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation.
