New Orleans Ragtime Festival to Debut This Weekend

The inaugural New Orleans Ragtime Festival will bring some old-time sounds to the Old U.S. Mint this Saturday, April 2.

Performers on the bill include Tom McDermott, Ingrid Lucia and Charlie Miller, Opera Creole, the New John Robichaux Society Orchestra, and festival founder Patrick Mackey’s own Silver Swan Ragtime Orchestra. The event will then move to the Palm Court Jazz Cafe at 8pm, where Lars Edegran’s New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra will close out the festivities.

“We ask that you come out and support The New Orleans Ragtime Festival – 2016, as we have created an engaging experience for this year,” festival producer’s Patrick Mackey and Tonya Excho said in press statement. “With many events already lined up for 2017 we will continue to have educational components and plenty of dance and entertainment. In the meantime we intend to make this year a success!”
