New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic expands mental health care for creatives

In partnership with the New Orleans Theatre Association (NOTA), the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (NOMC) is offering expanded mental health care for local creatives.

In a press release, NOMC said, “The mental health effects of the crises we are enduring are showing up in significant ways. As the number of U.S. adults struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues continues to rise, we remind our patients and supporters that you are not alone.” NOMC shared a list of COVID-19 mental health resources, including a link to its own services as well as those provided by the Loyola Center for Counseling & Education, NAMI New Orleans and the Louisiana Department of Health.

According to the NOTA website, the organization is “the leading local presenter of touring Broadway productions and other performing presentations in the New Orleans area.” One-hundred percent of money raised by productions put on by NOTA “are channeled back into the  local community in the form of grants and other support for a wide variety of qualified cultural, educational, and arts-based organizations and events.”

Through the support of NOTA, the NOMC is now able to expand its offerings to New Orleans-are creatives struggling with mental health issues during the current unprecedented times of turmoil and upheaval.

Additionally, the NOMC continues to provide aid through its monthly COVID-19 testing events, Meals for Musicians and more.
