On Wednesday December 3, 2024, New Orleans Musicians Clinic and Assistance Foundation (NOMCAF) co-founder and outgoing President, Bethany Ewald Bultman, announced that Peggy A. Honoré will be the next NOMCAF President.
Peggy A. Honoré, DHA, MHA is not only an existing Board member of NOMCAF she brings extensive experience to the organization having been the AmeriHealth Caritas – General Russel Honoré Endowed Professor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Public Health, Epidemiology & Population Health Program, and within the School of Medicine, Department of Medicine. She is highly regarded as a prominent chief executive, researcher, and educator with a unique proven track record of accomplishments in private industry, healthcare and public health, and higher education.
Research and teaching priorities for Dr. Honoré have included population health, policy, workforce, quality, and finance. She created and directed two policy and population health programs for LSU HSC-NO and has recently received a grant to support Medicaid members.
She not only served as course or program director for numerous public health and school of medicine programs, she is also an invited member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Coalition of Partners for Strengthening Public Health Capacities and Services in Europe and an invited member of the inaugural African & Diaspora Universities Research, Instruction & Engagement (ADURIE) Task Force, working to create opportunities for academic collaborations globally.
Dr. Honoré also served for 8 years as Director of the Public Health System, Finance and Quality Program in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In that role, she led HHS-wide efforts to develop national concepts and conducted research on quality in the public health system.
Her professional experiences in healthcare administration roles as COO/CFO for a group of four medical clinics in New Orleans and her national policy experiences includes working with and testifying before a U. S. Senate HELP subcommittee on the reauthorization of the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act. She is also a contributor to multiple publications.
