At this weekend’s 5th Annual Tropical Blood Drive, the Organ Grinders and the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic & Assistance Foundation will partner with the Blood Center of New Orleans. Aiming to collect over 250 pints of blood, the NOMC and Blood Center will host dance troupes, live music, a raffle and more for those in attendance.

These efforts will help “restock the shelves of the blood bank during summer, when they need it the most,” say organizers.

The Tropical Blood Drive takes place Sunday, August 19 at Tipitina’s (501 Napoleon Ave.). It runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees are not required to donate blood; they have the option of volunteering or just showing up in solidarity!
