The New Orleans Jazz Museum is set to host its 7th Annual Improvisations Gala on Saturday, December 7, from 7-11 p.m. The theme for 2024 is “Aquatic Gardens,” which will be brought to life through immersive exhibits and light installations. Attendees will enjoy a dazzling night of music, food, and drink with a star-studded lineup of performers.
The Gala’s performances will take place throughout the Jazz Museum’s historic complex, showcasing a stellar lineup of local and international talents. Headlining the evening is Grammy-nominated Afro-Cuban funk artist Cimafunk. Other musical acts include:

Jazz Museum Executive Director Greg Lambousy expressed his enthusiasm for the event, saying, “The Lt. Governor has proclaimed 2024 as the ‘year of music.’ What better way to end the year than an extraordinary celebration of our music and culture here at the New Orleans Jazz Museum!”
Tickets to the Gala are priced at $150, offering access to all performances, exhibits, food and beverages. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, Patron tickets are available at $300, granting entry to the exclusive Backstage Experience, which includes a private Main Stage viewing area, elevated food and drink options, lounge seating and additional perks.
In addition to the entertainment, the event will feature a Treasure Chest Key sale, where guests can vie for a piece of coveted jewelry from Adler’s. The Improv Online Auction will also launch in early October, providing another opportunity for guests to participate and support the museum.
The 2024 Improvisations Gala is chaired by Edgar “Dino” Gankendorff, Valerie Landry, and James Moore. Honorary co-chairs include renowned figures such as Herb Alpert, Jon Batiste, Randy Fertel, John Goodman, Wynton Marsalis, Arthel Neville, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Dan Pritzker.
