The first annual Roots Reggae Culture Festival will take over Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans City Park on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19. The new event promises plenty of music, as well as an emphasis reggae history and other cultural experiences.
Third World, Capleton, Richie Spice and I Wayne will headline the fest, which is also slated to feature performances by Higher Heights, The Shepherd Band, DJ T-Roy, Casa Samba, The Evolution Band feat. Ronald Reggae, Ambush Reggae Band and many more.
In addition, the event will showcase a Reggae History Tent, as well as live mural painting by local artist Fred Johnston, a stilt walking experience guided by Casa Samba, live wood carving from renowned artist Charles Gillam, a hookah smoking area and other activities.
Of course, the fest also offer authentic Caribbean and local creole food from a variety of vendors.
