Fried Chicken is a classic dish down south, so it’s a bit of a wonder that New Orleans has never hosted a festival dedicated to its deliciousness. That’s all going to change later this year when the New Orleans Fried Chicken Festival takes over Lafayette Square in the CBB on Sunday, September 25.
As previously reported, the celebration will include plenty of live music, as well as competitive events like a Best Fried Chicken Contest and Fried Chicken Wing Eating Contest. It also promises to feature different takes on its signature food item from over a variety of local vendors.
But who are these vendors? According to the festival’s website, the event will host at least 27 different establishments from throughout the region. The diverse array of vendors includes:
Crepes a la Cart, Delpit’s Chicken Shack, A Taste of Houma, The Company Burger, Bayou Hot Wings, Fiorella’s Cafe, Belle’s Diner, McHardy’s Fried Chicken, Roux Bistro, Orleagian Snowballs, Koreole, Milkfish, Koz’s, Nana G’s Chicken & Waffles, Diva Dawg, Tracey’s Original Irish Channel Bar, Tchefuncta Country Club, Swamp Kitchen, Frazier’s Connection, Liberty’s Kitchen, Jazz City Cafe, Frencheeze Food Truck, Cafe Reconicle, The Fry Bar, Tiger’s Creole Cuisine, Sweet Legacy and Porter & Luke’s.
The festival’s music lineup will be revealed in the near future.
