Scott with the launch and blessing of the book Passing It On: The Art of John T. Scott. Co-authored by Freddi Williams Evans and John Scott’s widow, Anna Rita Scott, this 100-plus-page hardcover volume offers an in-depth look at the life and work of the New Orleans-born artist who dedicated his career to celebrating the African diaspora. The book, produced by The Helis Foundation John Scott Center, highlights Scott’s groundbreaking contributions as a sculptor, painter, and printmaker, capturing the essence of New Orleans and Afro-Caribbean culture in his art.
