The Save Our Brass Culture Foundation kicks off its fourth annual New Orleans Brass Fest at Armstrong Park on Saturday, March 12. The festival will celebrate the lives of the late DJ Charles “Action” Jackson of WWOZ, Bennie Pete of the Hot 8 Brass Band, and trumpeter Terry Gibson Jr. The festival will also feature a special headlining performance from Glen David Andrews commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Lil Rascals’ album Buck It Like a Horse.

The Save Our Brass Culture Foundation is a nonprofit that provides education, resources and support to musicians. The foundation advocates for musicians’ rights and provide programs to assist musicians in their musical careers, including providing health, retirement and life insurance plans. The foundation provides educational resources for brass instrument instruction in schools, jails and churches.
