Prepare for a week of great entertainment as Austin-born comedy group The New Movement brings its fifth annual Megaphone Marathons to the New Movement NOLA performance space on Burgundy Street from Monday, July 21, to Sunday, July 27.
The New Movement started in February 2009 in Austin as a full-time comedy conservatory. With the aim of refreshing the Austin improvisation scene, it has organized hundreds of classes, attracting and boosting both beginners and veteran performers in Austin as well as throughout America.
The Megaphone Marathons were founded in 2010 by native New Orleanian Chris Trew and his beard. Founder of both sketch comedy group Studio8 and the Terp2it rap group, Trew is set to once more handle these unique marathons with the ease, beard, and sense of fun he’s famous for.
