Aaron Neville will be joined by Allen Toussaint for his upcoming album, I Know I’ve Been Changed, due out October 26. The album coincides with Neville’s 50th year since he cut his first record, and for the project, he cut tracks that focused on New Orleans, faith and music, including gospel songs by Sister Rosetta Tharpe and the Blind Boys of Alabama.
The album was produced by Joe Henry, who produced Toussaint’s The Bright Mississippi and Toussaint’s collaboration with Elvis Costello, The River in Reverse. Henry presents Neville with a smaller band than he has recently used that includes Dobro player Greg Leisz and the rhythm section from The Bright Mississippi, David Piltch (bass) and Jay Bellerose (drums).
