NOLA Nerdlesque Festival will be returning this November for its third annual show, where super heroes, comic-book villains, evil queens, and cartoons will be showing off in four nerdy, pop-culture parody burlesque revues, all taking place at the Contemporary Arts Center. Described by organizers as “a hugely popular performance style which combines the anything goes possibilities of neo-burlesque and the smart satire of classic burlesque,” Nerdlesque is headlined by world-renowned burlesque performer Dangrrr Doll.
For those who can’t wait, a teaser show later this week will provide a taste for what fans can expect at the forthcoming extravaganza.
The show will feature sneak peaks of new acts to come as well as giving old acts a final farewell, and of course prizes! Some of the talent featured will be Remy Dee, Persé Fanny, Loretta Dean, Ember Blaize, and Vincent Gallant. Many of the acts will be inspired by nerdy fan favorites such as Miyzaki films, DC comics, The Legend of Zelda and many more. The show will be this Friday, September 29, at the Valiant Theater and Lounge. Tickets are available online on the NOLA Nerdlesque Facebook page, so get your nerd on and check it out for a good time.
