Music Cities Together is a joint North American initiative between Music Policy Forum and Sound Music Cities, focused on strengthening collaboration, promoting best practices and democratizing research related to local music scenes. Together they have helped cities with music research and strategies. (Austin, Albuquerque, Charlotte, District of Columbia, Pittsburgh, Seattle just to name a few).
Music Cities Together, along with Music Policy Forum and Sound Music Cities, has put together a survey aimed at determining the impact COVID-19 is having on musicians. The survey is anonymous and described as getting “right to the heart of the matter.” Notably, it’s a nationwide survey so the more responses gathered from musicians in New Orleans and the rest of Louisiana, the more accurate a comparison point can be drawn.
Your responses will help provide a human and financial picture for how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the local music industry. Feedback and data may be shared with policy-makers to make a case for an industry often overlooked.
