On Thursday, October 3, songwriter, producer, and music industry advocate Larry Batiste will join media producer and DJ George Ingmire for an online conversation, hosted by The Ella Project. The event, titled Larry Batiste: A Career in Music Business and Advocacy, will take place at 2 p.m. Central via Zoom and is free to the public, although registration is required.
With a career spanning over four decades, Larry Batiste has worked across various sectors of the music industry, including songwriting, production, and advocacy. He is also the author of The Art and Business of Songwriting. During the conversation, Batiste and Ingmire will explore several key topics:
- The evolution of the music business over the years.
- Balancing the creative and business aspects of songwriting.
- How musicians and advocates can work to improve the rights and quality of life for artists in the industry.
Batiste’s extensive experience makes him a valuable voice on the challenges and opportunities within today’s music landscape. George Ingmire, Founder of Legacy Films and Preservation, will moderate the discussion, bringing his own background in media and music to the conversation.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with Batiste on these issues.
The event is presented by The Ella Project, an organization that provides legal and business assistance to artists and musicians.
