NOLA Brewing Co. will celebrate its seventh anniversary with an exciting show at its Brewing Tap Room on Friday, March 4.
The event–dubbed Seven Years of Beer–will feature a pair of special collaborative performances. Colorado jam-funk group The Motet will team up with Meters guitarist Leo Nocentelli, while local jazz-funk six-piece Naughty Professor will join forces with Jurrassic 5’s Chali 2na. Additionally, the night will include DJ sets from Otto and Quickie Mart, as well as showcase of NOLA Brewing Co’s seventh anniversary beer “Boysen the Wood.”
In related news, the Seven Years of Beer show will not mark the end of Naughty Professor and Chali 2na’s collaboration. The group will also record a track for their next album with the acclaimed rapper, who has collaborated with Galactic on countless occasions, while he’s in town. 2016 is shaping up to be a busy year for Naughty Professor, as the band has already recorded tacks with Dave Shaw, Cole DeGenova and Dexter Gilmore.
“We’re excited to be expanding our sound and part of that process includes bringing new artists and new elements into the mix,” says Naughty Professor drummer Sam Shahin. “The fact that we have the opportunity to work with Chali 2na is an extremely thrilling challenge because we all have so much respect for his artistic mind and his musicianship. Getting the two-headed approach (both a live performance and a studio session) allows us to focus on our versatility and bring that live energy into the studio.”
Tickets for the Seven Years of Beer show are currently on sale.
