The Fall season of UNO’s Jazz at the Sandbar series that has been livestreamed due to quarantine restrictions in 2020 will conclude Wednesday, November 18 with a performance from The Hot Club of New Orleans. But the chance to experience music from UNO Jazz is not over.

Just in time for the holidays, the Masakowski Family is excited to announce the release of their brand new Christmas CD entitled Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. The recording features some of New Orleans’ finest jazz musicians including Shea Pierre on piano, Jamison Ross on drums, and Jason Marsalis on vibraphone, along with the Masakowski family musical trio: Steve Masakowski (Program Director and Professor, UNO Jazz and winner of OffBeat’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Music Education) on guitar, Sasha Masakowski on vocals, and Martin Masakowski on bass. (Jamison, Sasha, and Martin are alumni of the UNO Jazz Studies Program.)

Produced by the New Orleans Jazz Celebration, Jazz at the Sandbar is held in conjunction with the UNO Jazz Studies Program, creating a performance series Downbeat Magazine calls “One of the best things going in America.”
