In an unusual musical collaboration, high-energy R&B outfit Mississippi Rail Company and Grammy-nominated folk-blues troubadour Andrew Duhon will join forces at d.b.a on March 20.
The Mississippi Rail Company is an up-and-coming young quartet whose rowdiness keeps the sounds of New Orleans R&B and roots music fresh.
They’ve enjoyed increasing popularity over the past few years and will be playing both Jazz Fest and French Quarter Fest this year.
For their “singles project” in 2014, they released a new song every month.
Duhon will join mid-show to lend a set of his soulful interpretations of Americana and blues standards, as well as to collaborate with the Mississippi Rail Company on original numbers by both groups.
The show begins at 10 p.m. and tickets cost $10.
