Eight emerging Gulf South-based music tech or tech-enabled startups have been selected for the inaugural cohort of METRONOME, the music business accelerator powered by IDEAinstitute. This significant milestone comes after a rigorous selection process, where 54 applicants vied for a spot in the program. The chosen companies demonstrated promising potential for building scalable businesses within the music industry, whether serving creators or consumers, while also showing potential to contribute to New Orleans’ music and cultural economy growth.
The METRONOME program officially kicked off last week, and the next 10+ weeks will provide opportunities for these entrepreneurs. During this period, the founders will immerse themselves in sessions, workshops, coaching and more to refine their startup concepts. The core curriculum and seminars will provide insights and knowledge necessary for scaling their businesses successfully.
Each founder in the METRONOME Fall 2023 Cohort will work closely with a dedicated, industry-focused mentor. They will also gain access to a specialized coworking space designed to foster collaboration and innovation.
