METRONOME and Music Biz Roadshow Host Networking and Panel Event

METRONOME, in partnership with the Music Biz Roadshow, is set to host an evening of music industry networking and education on November 19 at the Toulouse Theater in New Orleans. The event promises to offer valuable insights for artists, songwriters and industry professionals at all stages of their careers, featuring discussions on royalty management and music promotion in the digital age.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., followed by an opening presentation by Open On Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The first panel, titled “Where’s My Money? (And How Do I Get It?)” will begin at 5:45 p.m and focus on publishing royalties. Panelists will delve into the different types of royalties—mechanical, performance, and sync—and share strategies for tracking earnings, understanding rights, and ensuring that musicians are fairly compensated. Moderated by Tim Kappel from Wells & Kappel, the panel includes Jamie Dominguez from The MLC, Deborah Evans of Della Publishing/DMG, Don McGill from Open On Sunday and Tavia Obey from MidCitizen Entertainment.

The MLC will present at 6:15 p.m., followed by the second panel, “How Do I Get My Music Out There?” at 6:30 p.m. This discussion will address methods of promoting music in an increasingly digital world. Moderated by Reid Wick of The Recording Academy, panelists include Randell Foster from Symphonic and Rue Wildeman from CD Baby, who will offer advice on building audiences and practical tips for navigating online platforms.

A networking mixer will follow at 7:30 p.m., providing attendees with an opportunity to connect with panelists and fellow artists. The event is scheduled to conclude at 9 p.m.
