The New Orleans music industry is set to witness a new company development program as the The Idea Village—who put together New Orleans Entrepreneur Week earlier this year—introduces its first-ever music business accelerator, METRONOME, as part of its upcoming Fall 2023 IDEAinstitute program.
At the core of METRONOME is a 10-week program providing participants with essential skills and knowledge to transform their music business ideas into viable ventures. Beyond the main program, METRONOME entrepreneurs will gain access to a range of valuable resources, including specialized workshops, a dedicated industry mentor, coworking space, one-on-one coaching sessions, and opportunities for peer-to-peer connections.
The program’s industry-focused mentorship pairs each participant with an experienced professional from the music business domain, offering personalized guidance and insights. Additionally, participants can attend specialized workshops covering crucial topics such as marketing, licensing, and copyright.
A significant benefit of METRONOME is the provided coworking space, fostering collaboration and innovation. Entrepreneurs will have access to a supportive community of like-minded individuals, enabling the exchange of ideas and experiences.
Moreover, the highly curated coaching sessions will offer aspiring entrepreneurs targeted advice, helping refine their business strategies and approaches.
METRONOME’s Fall 2023 program will run from September 4 until November 27. Whether reshaping music distribution, exploring new artist management techniques, or other innovative endeavors, METRONOME aims to equip participants with the fundamentals required to move from a business idea to a venture-ready state.
