In the 1980s, the Arizona-based Meat Puppets became one of the most important alternative rock bands, recording albums for the influential SST Records that would inspire grunge and proto-indie giants like Nirvana and Pavement. After a hiatus, the band reunited in 2006 with founding brothers Cris and Curt Kirkwood and drummer Shandon Sahm from the Meat Puppets’ early 2000s period. In April they released a new album, Lollipop, and on Thursday, September 15 the band stopped at One Eyed Jacks on their second long U.S. tour of the year.
