The new Ocean Springs, Mississippi, location of local favorite McClure’s Barbecue will celebrate a soft opening this weekend.
Never one to shy away from an opportunity to host a party, McClure’s partner and co-owner Ryan Shapiro said the new location will be serving up much more than just tasty barbecue on Saturday, September 27, especially since Galactic and Break Science will be playing just down the street at Kress Live in Biloxi.
“We’re going to start off with our regular, full menu,” Shapiro said. “We’re going to be serving lunch, dinner, and a late night menu.”
In addition to the food, Chicago based blues band Nick and the Ovorols will take the stage Saturday night at McClure’s from 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., with Mitch Stewart taking over from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m.
“From 1:30 a.m. until the sun comes up, we’re doing the Galactic and Break Science after party,” Shapiro said. “DJ Otto is opening up for the Galactic and Break Science show, and he’s going to be the DJ for the after party as well, with some very, very special guests.”
Shapiro said the new Ocean Springs location is perfect for parties and he hopes to add more events like this into the mix in the future, especially as more New Orleans acts begin to play Kress Live
“The two venues are about seven minutes away from each other,” he said. “They are right next door to each other, so you can go see Galactic at Kress Live and come right to the after party at McClure’s.”
