A concert by Master P scheduled for Friday, April 22, at the Smoothie King Center has been rescheduled as a result of the New Orleans Pelicans advancing to the NBA playoffs. The No Limit Reunion Tour performance will instead be held on Saturday, April 30, at 7 p.m. and is being touted as a birthday celebration for Master P.
Game 3 of the NBA playoffs between the Pelicans and the Phoenix Suns will be held at the arena on Friday, April 22, at 8:30 p.m. CDT.
“This is a win-win for the city,” said Percy Miller, aka Master P, a native of New Orleans. “We are celebrating the Pelicans making the play-offs and having the whole city coming out for my birthday. It’s going to be an epic No Limit camouflage party April 30. Y’all thought it was going to be big but it just got bigger!”
The No Limit Records Reunion Tour spotlights an all-star lineup of MCs from Master P’s No Limit Records label, including Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Fiend, Mia X, Mr. Serv On and Choppa Style. Juvenile and the Ying Yang Twins will appear as special guests. Master P began No Limit Records in the early 1990s and it grew in success throughout the years. The label was based out of New Orleans in the later half of the ’90s which led to the signing of notable New Orleans rappers like Mystikal, Mia X, and Soulja Slim.
All tickets to the April 22 show will be honored for the new date. Any fans who can’t make it to the rescheduled show will be able to get refunds at their point of purchase. Ticket holders are advised to contact the Smoothie King Center box office or Ticketmaster directly for any questions.
Master P had a short-lived career in the NBA. He played for the Charlotte Hornets in the 1998 pre-season and the Tornoto Raptors in the 1999 pre-season. His contracts never extended past the pre-season and he never played a regular season game for the NBA.
