Acclaimed New Orleans theater company Southern Rep will hold mental health fundraiser ‘Masquerade for Mental Health’ on Tuesday, February 4. The fundraiser will support the Loyola Center for Counseling and Education and creative outreach program Care for Creatives.
Attendees of the masquerade can anticipate live music, entertainment, food and drink, as well as an exclusive VIP Healing Lounge. New Orleans’ variety musicians Dat Band will play an array of jazz, rock, pop, and more. Food will be available for purchase, provided by Bogan’s King Que, as well as beverages by the Sanctuary Bar. For VIP guests, there will be a VIP Healing Lounge where guests will receive a mask and have access to luxury facilities like massages, reiki services, and NADA ear acupuncture. Additionally, there will be silent auction items and masks to wear available for purchase. No mask, no entry.
The two beneficiaries, Loyola Center for Counseling & Education (LCCE) and Care for Creatives, provide mental health services to the New Orleans community. LCCE offers counseling services on a sliding scale to families, couples, and individuals to ensure accessible mental health services for people at any stage of life. Care for Creatives is an extension of Southern Rep Theatre’s goal of supporting New Orleans’ cultural and creative economy. In collaboration with the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic’s You Got This, Care for Creatives seeks to ensure the wellbeing of New Orleans’ creatives through expressive forms of mental health care.
Southern Rep’s Masquerade for Mental Health will be held on Tuesday, February 4th from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Sanctuary Bar, located in Southern Rep at 2541 Bayou Rd., New Orleans, LA, 70119.
