This past April, Carencro rootsman Marc Broussard released Live from Full Sail, the proceeds of which netted one lucky student a $5,000 scholarship to the university which specializes in audio, film and design. Earlier this summer, Broussard inked a deal with vaunted folk label Vanguard Records. While a new album from the Louisiana singer-songwriter is slated for release this season, just last week, Broussard’s Full Sail set hit shelves on DVD and Blu-ray. In addition to Broussard’s concert, the Blu-ray edition includes an acoustic performance shot at an Orlando record store as well as guitar tutorials captured on the college’s campus. Currently on tour, local fans can catch Broussard this Friday (October 18) at Harrah’s casino in the French Quarter (map) at 8:00 p.m. Ticket are $33 and available online via Ticketmaster.
