On Friday, February 9, one of the world’s preeminent saxophonists will perform in New Orleans during the weekend leading up to Mardi Gras. Sax titan Maceo Parker will return to Tipitina’s to perform the jazz, funk and soul music that has guided him through a career spanning five decades. Parker recently performed in New Orleans at Jazz Fest 2017 after taking the place of George Benson, who canceled his appearance.

February’s performance will bring the former James Brown and P-Funk collaborator back to Tipitina’s after he performed there last October. In 2016, he received the North Carolina National Heritage Award from his home state. Tickets for Maceo Parker’s February 9 performance at Tipitina’s are available here and range from $35 advance to $37 at the door. The show is 18+ and doors open at 10 p.m.
