On Friday, September 29, the Music and Culture Coalition of New Orleans (MaCCNO) will celebrate a milestone with an anniversary party including live entertainment and a raffle. The event, hosted by Chris Lane, will feature performances by DJ Quickie Mart, Arsene DeLay and the Bayou Saints, Chuck Perkins, the Stooges Music Group, Cyril and Gaynielle Neville, plus DJ Soul Sister. Held at Three Keys inside Ace Hotel (600 Carondelet Street), MaCCNO’s fifth anniversary party is also the start to #MaCCNO5, a call for a $5 monthly donation from supporters to ensure MaCCNO can help preserve and support New Orleans culture for the next five years. The raffle will feature prizes from local New Orleans businesses and more.
Renard Bridgewater, MaCCNO Engagement Coordinator, says the organization is “excited to celebrate five years of working with New Orleans’ artists, musicians, and culture bearers, who are often some of the city’s most underappreciated yet overworked people.”
MaCCNO is best known for a noise ordinance protest and second-line into City Hall in January of 2014 and is celebrated for its work at the intersection of culture, policy, and social justice in New Orleans.
Tickets for the MaCCNO fifth anniversary party are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. Advance tickets are available now at www.maccno.com/events.
