When Lynn Drury moved to New Orleans in the late nineties, she had already been subjected to the sound of folky blues from her time living in Yazoo City, MS and Carriere, MS. Eventually mixing the sounds she’d heard, Drury created her own distinctive sonic blend, which she calls NOLAmericana.
On Wednesdays throughout September, with the “NOLAmericana Music songwriter series,” Drury is sharing her style with the city that helped create it. At Loa bar, located at 221 Camp St., inside the International House Hotel, Drury is inviting everyone to come check out NOLAmericana with a series of performances featuring some supremely talented artists.
The schedule is as follows:
4 Sept–Michael Doussan
11 Sept–Michael Cerveris
18 Sept–Mikayla Braun
25 Sept–Micah McKee
Each of the shows in the series begin at 7 p.m. For more information about the shows, click here.
