Luna Fête returns to New Orleans tonight to light up Lafayette Square. As has been the case in past years, the third edition of the annual light-based at installation series will feature a roster of international, national and local artists.
Luna Fête 2016 takes place from 6pm to 9pm every day between Wednesday, December 7 and Saturday, December 10. According to the Arts Council of New Orleans, the series “he ideal opportunity to celebrate New Orleans’ creative and tech-based industries, highlighting the intersection of art, architecture, technology, community engagement, and tourism.”
Last year’s Luna Fête brought an array of concentric circular pads that changed colors as attendees jumped from pad to pad. The series also showcased a joint video project from Portuguese multimedia outfit OCUBO and children at the Ashe Cultural Arts Centers’ KUUMBA Institute, among other things.
Launched in 2014, Luna Fête is an annual initiative from the Arts Council of New Orleans that will take place every year leading up to the city’s 2018 tri-centennial celebration.
