Fans of Samantha Fish have something to look forward to this Jazz Fest season as WYES, in collaboration with Rounder Records, will air Love Letters: Samantha Fish Live from New Orleans, a half-hour documentary and concert special featuring Samantha Fish. The program will air on April 29 and May 6 at 9:30 p.m.
The documentary was filmed during the summer of 2021 as Samantha Fish prepared to release her seventh album, Faster, and embark on her first tour since the pandemic. Narrated by NPR’s Gwen Thompkins, Love Letters offers an intimate look into the life and career of Samantha Fish, reflecting on her influences, growing up, and the power of human connection through live music.
Co-directed by Marian Evans and produced by Carl Van, Love Letters also features unique performances by Samantha Fish, including her “Bulletproof” cigar box performance, “All The Words” performance, and the opening performance and title track “Love Letters.”
Following the airings, the documentary will be released for free through Samantha’s official YouTube channel on Sunday, May 7.
