If the news that one of New Orleans’ best record stores is moving to Frenchmen Street in February (to share a building with OffBeat Magazine‘s offices!) wasn’t exciting enough for you last month, then this week’s announcement of a store-wide moving sale should just about get every Louisiana music fan and vinyl geek up and out this Saturday, January 25 before Noon.

That’s right, in order to get first dibs on in-store selections this Saturday, you might want to plan to be at Louisiana Music Factory when they open at 10 a.m., because everything in the store will be 20% off starting January 25 and through January 31, the day before they close operations at their current locations on Decatur Street across from House of Blues in the French Quarter to take up residence on Frenchmen Street.
This is one of those only-in-New Orleans opportunities for locals and visitors in town next week to save on music purchases, as the moving sale is on in-store merchandise only. Online orders will remain regular price. Then, on Saturday, February 1, proprietor Barry Smith and his faithful crew will begin packing up the shop and start making the move over to Frenchmen. (Louisiana Music Factory will be closed for moving February 1-8) The Factory is known for having the best selection of New Orleans and Louisiana music always on-hand, as well as their second floor used vinyl section.
