Louisiana King Cake Festival Returns to Thibodaux in February; VIP Tix Support Dolly Parton Library

The Louisiana King Cake Festival, presented by the Lorio Foundation, will take place in Downtown Thibodaux next month. The event will feature live music, family-friendly activities and king cake tastings, with proceeds benefiting the Lafourche Education Foundation (LEF).

Festival activities include a wagon parade, a foam party and a children’s stage. Live performances are scheduled from Nonc Nu & the Wild Matous and The Waters Edge Band. More than 50 local vendors will offer king cakes for tasting, with one crowned the “Best King Cake.” Food vendors and Mardi Gras krewes will also provide additional culinary options.

The Lafourche Education Foundation, the event’s beneficiary, supports public education in Lafourche Parish through initiatives such as funding classroom supplies and literacy programs. A portion of VIP ticket sales will support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free books to children ages 0-5 in the parish.

Additional features at the King Cake Festival include a coloring contest for elementary and middle school students, sponsored by Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, and a high school competition to design the official festival poster.
