Hispanic music and culture take over the riverfront Saturday October 9 and Sunday October 10 when Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World plays host to Carnaval Latino, presented by the non-profit Hispanic American Musicians and Artists Cultural Association (H.A.M.A.C.A.). In addition to a large lineup of music, the festival also features a wide variety of foods and activities, including amusement park rides for children. Offerings from the cuisines of various Hispanic countries will be available.

The highlights of the music schedule are Omara Portuondo, the Diva of Buena Vista Social Club and Texas’ Latin-influenced rockers Los Lonely Boys. The full lineup features fifteen other acts performing music and folklore from Spain, Portugal and the Americas, representing multiple  genres such as salsa, merengue, Latin jazz, bachata, Latin hip-hop, reggeaton, and Latin rock.
