The Second Line Show has already made a name for itself as a talented new sketch comedy act, but “sketching” isn’t all the group has up its sleeves. With two shows at Gasa Gasa and Bar Redux next week, the up-and-coming New Orleans crew is about to prove how innovative it really is.
The troupe branches out from the traditional sketch comedy paradigm with a “Lip Sync Battle Royale” on Monday, June 22, and also occupies a monthly residency at Gasa Gasa, with a second “Drunk Storytellin’” event on Friday, June 25 at Bar Redux.
Since the group’s formation in June of last year, it’s garnered a loyal following from its free monthly sketch comedy shows at Gasa Gasa. The group continues to become more and more known in its pursuit to put sketch comedy at the forefront of New Orleans, as it is in major cities like New York and Los Angeles.
Both shows are free, and provide a great opportunity to catch the comedy group in a fun, unconventional setting.
