Update: Aretha Franklin, previously announced as headlining talent for Jazz Fest 2018, has been replaced. Rod Stewart will take her slot on Saturday, April 28.
According to a press statement from Jazz Fest organizers, “Aretha Franklin has been ordered by her doctor to stay off the road and rest completely for at least the next two months. She is extremely disappointed she cannot perform at this year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival as she had expected and hoped to.” Below, check out OffBeat.com’s original announcement of the full lineup (by day) for Jazz Fest 2018.
Update: LL Cool J is one of hip-hop’s most decorated MCs. He recently bridged worlds by becoming the Kennedy Center’s first ever honoree from the world of rap and now, the 50-year-old Queens, New York icon has announced he’s bringing the show on the road, straight to New Orleans. He will bring DJ Z-Trip along for the ride on Friday, May 4.
