Next Friday, July 19, New Orleans is invited to celebrate the 79th birthday of one of the city’s true living legends: bluesman Little Freddie King.

The Louisiana Music Hall of Famer will put on a celebratory performance at BJ’s Lounge (4301 Burgundy St.). They’re calling it a “By-Water Crawl,” and all are invited.

On July 31, Little Freddie King will receive the Jus’ Blues Albert King Lifetime Blues Award. Irma Thomas will receive the Soul Award.
