The New Orleans Opera Association presents
Lisette Oropesa’s singing career catapulted to fame as result of her participation in the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont National Council Auditions. Since then, she has become one of the most in-demand coloraturas who performs in leading roles with the most notable opera houses around the world. Oropesa’s concert with New Orleans Opera is the continuation of her commitment to the next generation of opera stars who have also participated in the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont National Council Auditions. A special part of her commitment to advancing singers is the invitation to recent audition winners to join her on stage. Joining Oropesa for this concert will be mezzo-soprano Ashley Dixon, tenor Carlos Enrique Santelli, and baritone Blake Denson under the direction of Jerry W. Zachary and Henry Bernstein Maestro Chair and conductor Joseph Colaneri.
“We are thrilled to welcome New Orleans native Lisette Oropesa back to her hometown for this incredible concert,” says NOOA General and Artistic Director Clare Burovac. “As the world’s leading lyric coloratura soprano, she has brought her artistry to every corner of the opera world, and now she brings her talent back home to our audience.”
