Lineup Finalized for Best of the Beat Awards

New Orleans jam pioneers The Radiators will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Music at the 2015 Best of the Beat Awards. The event–set for Thursday, January 21 at Generations Hall in New Orleans’ Warehouse District–will feature two stages of music from some of the most exciting performers in the city, along with plenty of great food and more.

Dumpstaphunk’s Tony Hall will lead a tribute to the late Allen Toussaint with Cyril Neville, Davell Crawford and David Torkanowsky at this year’s awards show. The night will also feature a set from Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes, who will pay tribute to Lifetime Achievement recipients The Radiators.

Others artists on the bill include Walter “Wolfman” Washington & the Roadmasters, the Young Fellaz Brass Band, ROAR!, Roddie Romero and the Hub City Allstars and DJ Quickie Mart.

Additionally, the Best of the Beat Awards always showcases complimentary cuisine from New Orleans restaurants like Barcadia, Bratz Y’all, Bittersweet Confections, Gumbo Shop, Custom Catering, Dat Dog, Praline Connection, Nola Foods & Whoodoo BBQ, Whole Foods, Tee Eva’sand many more

The Best of the Beat Music Awards will honor four lifetime achievement recipients at this year’s ceremony, including local rock legends The Radiators (Music), renowned vocalist and educator Germaine Bazzle (Music Education), New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic Nurse Practitioner Catherine Lasperches (HeartBeat Award) and Tipitina’s Foundation co-founders/co-chairs Roland and Mary Von Kurnatowski (Music Business).

The nominees for this year’s music awards will be revealed later this week, and fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite musicians via our online voting platform.

The Best of the Beat Awards are presented by the OffBeat Music and Cultural Arts Foundation. The Foundation was developed to create opportunities that support Louisiana artists in leading sustainable creative lives. The OffBeat Music and Cultural Arts Foundation merges education, advocacy, community engagement and creative collaboration to foster and uplift Louisiana music, arts and culture.

Early bird tickets for the 2015 Best of the Beat Awards are still on sale for $30, but that offer will expire after today (December 14). General Admission ticket prices will then go up to $35. Tickets at the door are $45.
