Le Petit Theatre carries on its 103rd season with a regional debut of the uproarious musical comedy “Something Rotten!” beginning January 17, 2020.
Deemed “The funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years!” by Time Out New York, “Something Rotten!” follows the hilarious story of two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, who seek to outshine the ubiquitous legacy of Shakespeare through writing a smash-hit play. Le Petit’s dazzling comedic production features two of the original touring cast members.
Following “Something Rotten!,” Le Petit Theatre’s season continues with productions of “The Piano Lesson” by esteemed playwright August Wilson opening March 6, “Angels in America: Millennium Approaches” April 10-May 3, and ends with “A Night With Janis Joplin” June 5-21, 2020.
“Something Rotten!” opens on January 17 and performances continue through February 2 at Le Petit Theatre, located at 616 St. Peter St. Showtimes are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Tickets are available through Le Petit’s box office weekdays from 12-5 p.m. by calling (504) 533-2081. Le Petit Theatre will continue outreach efforts during this production with two featured events, Industry Night and Student Matinee. Industry Night is on Monday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. and tickets will be sold at a discounted price of $25. Student Matinee is Friday, January 24 at 10 a.m., where Le Petit Theatre encourages teachers and staff from New Orleans area schools to bring their students to a matinee performance, free upon reservation.
